Every nation is built on War. It has been this way since the first humans walked this earth. And it won't change. Also if it wasn't for war the country you live in would be a country full of rebels fighting for there own selfish ambitions.[/b]
Well, hate to rebuttle this point, but Australia was (so i've heard) one of the only countries to form a federation/constitution without war. And yes, i am Australian - true blue.
Correct me if i'm wrong on any of the following...
now, looking on all the responces, i'm guessing that the magority of you are american. In Australia, there's a lot of prejudice about the war, and people are hating John Howard, for his brown-nosing habits with Bush.
Personally, i think that Bush felt that he had to act after 9/11, for he believed that his people would turn against him if he turned a blind eye.
i believe the iraqians have been fighting against the US police because they see this as an invasion, and also, it's Al Quida (man, i cant spell) anyway, it's Al Quida that has been one of their main sources of police and protection. They've been brought up to believe that the US army is purely a greedy invading force, after their oil and resources...
Now, i'm not defending Bush, and i'm certainly not defending the muslims.
but i will say this
I think that some stable sort of government should be established (as, no doubt the governments are trying). i think the leader should definately be of Iraq, or at least someone that the poeple can trust from a nearby country. (certainly not a US government or Aus gov, becuase otherwise we'd have increased civil war, as well as a revolt)
But this cant be acheived by any methods i can think of because of Al Quieda and/or the hate of US involvement..
anyway
i personally would love the soldiers to come home... but unless they can set up a strong, lawful, iraqi police force (which i highly doubt, and would b targeted by terrorists anway) - there wont be peace in iraq, and therefore...there will be Australian and US soldiers fighting.
